SUNDAY IV…26TH DECEMBER
HOLDFAST WHAT YOU HAVE
Luke 2:8-10, Revelation 3:8-11 are other supporting text.
Whatever you’ve got, seen or have, let no-one take it away from you.
Christ has been born already but we are remembering that one time God came through His son to save us.
In Rev. 3:11, He said he is coming quickly and this time not as a saviour or human but to judge the unbelievers and reward the righteous. Therefore whatever good work that you are doing, hold it well so that no-one can take it away from you.
1. I know and have seen your works, therefore have set an open door for you. My Brethren, ask yourself what you have done, what you have laboured in the Lord?
2. You have a little strength. You have a little strength in the Lord but He will exchange yours for His strength.
3. You have kept my word. You have a little strength, but have kept my word faithfully.
4. You have not deny my name. During Christmas times, a lot of people deny the name of the Lord.
Luke 2:8…The shepherds were the weakest of all, but the birth of Christ was first announced to them. You may be the weakest of all but the Lord will make you the strongest through His glory.
The suddenly, He will do unto you also. The shepherds after hearing the News spread the birth of Jesus to everyone.
Come to church regularly, so that you may see the glory of the Lord, not occasionally or you will hear only one message. Let the celebration continue in your life till His coming, God bless you. AMEN
MERRY CHRISTMAS ! AND HAPPY !! NEW YEAR !!!
PROMISE TO THE MOTHER
Other text includes: Matthew 1:23, Psalm 127:3, Genesis 1:23, Matthew 19:13-15, Deuteronomy 20:5, Proverbs 13:24, Proverbs 23:13 and Proverbs 19:18.
Jesus once said a mother will pass through distress before child-delivery but after seeing the child, she forgets all the pains and distress. So as the father also rejoice when the mother achieves this.
Train a child in the way he should go and he will not depart from it.
What is so important is to dedicate the child to thed Lord.
Abraham sacrificed Isaac his only son to the Lord.
In I Samuel 1:11, Hannah also dedicated Samuel to the almighty God.
Jesus was dedicated to the Lord.
What Training means is “Insisting a disciplinary on the child”.
I recommend you getting children’s Bible with pictures for your child to enjoy reading and studying it.
There lived a certain man who always iron and polish his wife and kids clothes and shoes and pushed them to church whiles he stays home. One day the child asked the father; Daddy, when you were like me did you attend Sunday school like you are doing to me? “Yes”, the father replied. And now you are no more going, said the child. This means when I also grow up, my going to church will not end-up anywhere.
We have to pass through the way we want our children also to pass.
In II Timothy 3:5, Timothy had a lot of training because the mother and the father had the eyes on him well.
Study and watch the way the child lives play and encourage and support him to pursue his career not what you want him or her to be.
Train the child in love. Learn to praise them and also admonish unnatural behaviour in them. Loving him too much won’t give you the chance to train him well.
Think about it, train your child in lord with love and you would be proud of him or her. The type of training that you will give them today will not ever depart from them. Don’t just send them to the house of the Lord and you relax, go with them, be sure they learn something from the teachings they go through, and that he put into practice and God will bless you and your child or children, AMEN.
SUNDAY II…12 DECEMBER
HAVE YOU SEEN THE LIGHT?
A Sermon by Rev Frank about the birth of the Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:2 is the main text of this sermon which says: The people walking in the darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned. It is supported by John 7:26-31, Isaiah 9:2-7 and Philippians 2:7.
We often quote and sing Isaiah 9:6 (For unto us a child is born; to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of peace) , but we do not acknowledge it well.
I am talking about the light of God.
Isaiah was pronouncing the birth of a Mighty God, Eternal God, the Messiah; He meant the God who was forsaking his seat in Heaven to carry an unbearable sin away.
You are a rich or wealthy person if you don’t know. That is why you are being hated, trespassed, maltreated and all sort of evil interventions.
The Jews knew that the Lord was going to save and change their lives through this Messiah. God only told Isaiah about this Son, and Isaiah started describing how this son will be and it was and is true.
So Isaiah was describing this King who is wonderful counselor and the people made it that his day of birth has to be remembered all the time and therefore Christmas. So Christmas signify Joy and Happiness.
We have seen the light, if you haven’t; accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour and you will see the light we are talking about here.
When we love our enemies, the Bible says it is a way of turning them into your neighbors.
A son once asked his mother; Mummy is God up there? Yes, Mummy replied. Then let Him show his head to us, he is always hiding from us. You have not seen the light, you would have seen God.
John 14:6 says whoever has seen Jesus has seen the Lord, therefore Jesus is the light and the light is God. So Jesus is Lord. In John 10:30, Jesus said, “I and my Father are one”
In the beginning was the word, the word was with God and the word was God (John1:1).
He would be called the Prince of Peace. If you are here and have no peace, it means you have not seen the prince of peace who gives peace to those who diligently seek him.
Many people didn’t receive and believe him, therefore didn’t see the light.
HAVE YOU SEEN THE LIGHT? Ask yourself this question
Bow down your head and pray. Ask for the light of God. Tell the Lord to open your eyes and see him as the light. For the light will direct your path.
AMEN ! ! !
SUNDAY I…5TH DECEMBER
WHERE IS YOUR GOD?
A Sermon on first Sunday of December from Rev Frank A. Odoom, Head Pastor of Christian Growth Church. Jeremiah 2:26-28 is the text for this Sermon with verse 28 as the main text which reads: Where then are the gods you made for yourselves? Let them come if they can save you when you are in trouble! For you have as many gods as you have towns, O Judah.
Where is your God, Who is your God, and What have you made as your God?
If there should be any man who need not to pray, it is Jesus Christ, yet he prayed. So it is to us also to pray regularly. Read this story:
It once came when thieves and arm-rubbers used nailed rubber sandals on the calmest street or bushy road where cars don’t usually pass in their numbers. When your car rides over the nailed rubber sandals and your tyre busts, they raid unto you and collect everything from you. A lady and her driver were traveling along this road I’m talking about, the Lady was talking about these thieves and rubbers when suddenly they rode over one of the nailed sandals and so their tyre got busted and seized moving. As the driver was repairing the tyre, the lady was still talking about it. Suddenly what she was saying happened, the rubbers told them to say their last prayers before they die. As the Lady was praying, fortunately for her, a Hunter was also looking for his son from the bush near where the incidence has happened. He shouted, Kweku! The lady responded, “Yes” Where are you, said the hunter? I’m here, I’m coming, the lady replied. The rubbers thought they are in groups and could attack them. So they immediately left them and fled.
Remember the scripture says, what you say is what the Lord does, therefore say good and positive things and it shall end up well with you.(End of Story).
The Lord told the Israelites that your fathers have made wood as their god. We nowadays have made a lot of things our god. When you encounter problems, let what you have made your god help you.
Let the almighty God be your god and know that He reign in a Heaven no one has ever seen.
People have made politics, green card, credit cards, etc their god.
The Lord is asking you if all these things can save and help you in time of need? The answer is “Big NO”. Then why serve them instead of the almighty?
My God is a God of fire, God of Jacob, Abraham, David; who does not wait for me to suffer before He helps me.
Those who know their God and where He is, nothing hinders them from serving Him well.
We need God to help and establish us.
God Bless You to See Him as Your God and Everything, AMEN.
