COMPILATION FOR APRIL AND MAY 2005

SUNDAY V…29TH MAY

RENEW YOUR MIND…Rev Frank Ato Odoom

You need to renew your mind and attitude.

When you read Ephesians 4:23, it says: and be renewed in the attitude of your mind.

Other texts: Ephesians 4:22-25, John 3:1-8 and John 7:52.

You need to be born again.

Nicodemus’ influence according to John 7:52 prolonged the capturing of Jesus Christ.

Jesus meant Nicodemus to change his mind when he told him to be born again. You need to be renovated.

Nicodemus thought physically to be born again, but Jesus meant to be born again of the spirit and water (i.e. Repentance and Baptism).

Any mind – thinking that cause division and destruction must be changed, renewed and renovated.

Admit your fault, repent and confess; then renew or renovate your self.

The water Jesus mentioned refers to Immersion Baptism.

Immersion ►Baptism by water that covers the whole body.

We lose a lot of good things because of our inability to renovate and renew them.

I remember sometime ago I talked anyhow to the extent of breaking my friendship until I came to renew myself and things are in good shape after my renovation.

Renovate and renew yourself, confessing to God and see the end result. See how you would be blessed.

Anything that does not glorify God glorifies Satan.

Change and renew your mind and God will bless you, AMEN!!!

SUNDAY IV…22ND MAY

HOW TO BE FREE!!!

Psalm 32:3: When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long.

Many of us are not free. Have freedom.

Freedom is liberty. In the house of the Lord, there is absolute Liberty and this signify that it is only when you follow Jesus that you will get Freedom.

Relieve yourself from bondage.

Take Jesus and have real Freedom. The step to freedom is to confess for confession leads to salvation.

Put your trust in God to have freedom, put your trust in your words. Choose your words very carefully, do not talk anyhow.

Don’t take a rebellious spirit, or you will be in bondage.

If you don’t confess, God will not acknowledge your sin and forgive you.

I am sorry, I have admitted my sin, please forgive me. This is the sweetest words of confession which leads to salvation and freedom.

Why are you so disturbed? Relieve yourself.

If you know the truth, it will set you free (John 8:32).

Be free and bold to confess

Let us confess to each other and freedom will be ours.

We will be free forever and ever in Jesus name, AMEN!!!

SUNDAY III…15TH MAY

FOLLOW JESUS AS A GOOD DISCIPLE

From Rev. Timothy Koomson of Christ Reminders Church Int., this Sunday’s sermon was delivered.

His main text was taken from the book of Matthew 4:19-20 which says:  19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

20 And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.

We have two things in life; if you don’t sin, you will do good.

We have Christians and True Christians. Which of them do you belong?

Come, follow me and I will make you fishers of men. Immediately, they left their net and whatever they were doing and followed Jesus.

We have to obey the call of the Lord, leave everything and follow Him if He says so.

Follow Jesus as a good Disciple.

IIKings 5:20-27…a servant (Gehazi) went to Naaman a sickler being healed, to collect money in favour of his master without his master’s knowledge. Naaman granted to him as he requested. Naaman was a wealthy rich man but was crippled. On his way home, he met his master; where did you go, asked the master? I did not g anywhere replied the servant. So he lied. The master found out, VS 27, the master said to the servant; if you don’t tell the truth, the cripple of Naaman be transferred to you all the days of your life now. Immediately, it happened. Forsake lies, for there is nothing God can’t do. Let us together move the work of the Lord forward for God is a God of Principle.

In IKings 18:43-44. A contrary incidence happened between Elijah and his servant. Seven times, the servant obeyed his master Elijah. Click on this link to read: http://firefighters.org/kjv/bible/index.cfm?Chapter=18&Book=11

Which of these two servants will you prefer to be and if to choose, which of them?

It is not easy to follow Jesus, but as a True Christian, it’s your mission and duty

If you humble your self and be a good servant, God will surely bless and lift you up above all your enemies, in Jesus name, AMEN!!!

SUNDAY II…8TH MAY

LOVE YOUR MOTHER!!! (Mothers’ Day)

Sunday 8th of May being Mothers’ Day celebrated all over the world symbolizes the mother’s love and showing your mother how important, loving and who she is to you.

Mothers are to be treated well, just as an adage says: If you educate a man, you educate a single person but if you educate a woman, you educate the whole nation.

Paul showed a kind of love and this love must be shown to all mothers. Let’s check it out at IITimothy 1:1-7. It says: Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus,

2 To Timothy, my dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

3 I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day;

4 Greatly desiring to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy;

5 When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.

6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.

7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Treat mothers as special people, give them desert and wish them happy mothers’ day.

According Timothy, we are to have the power of love, the spirit of love and a sound mind. Let your soul match forward, press on (Phil. 3:12-14).

Do not fear, neither lose hope; for our God is different (2Chronicle 20:17).

Paul departed his motherly love to the mother of Eunice.

Love your mother and let her feel your presence and God will grant all your heart desires, AMEN.

SUNDAY I…1ST MAY

DO EVERYTHING WITHOUT COMPLAINING

May Day which happened to fall on Sunday this year’s message came with the title above from Rev. Frank Ato Odoom of Christian Growth Church Int.

The main text was taken from the Gospel according to Philippians 2:14 which says: DO everything without complaining or arguing. (NIV) Without murmurings and disputing (KJV).

Supporting texts were Isaiah 40:29 – 31, IPeter 5:8 -9 and Isaiah 40:15.

We complain too much, according to research. Many of our complains are even nothing but caused by ourselves.

If you think and recollect what the Lord has done for you, you wouldn’t complain anymore.

God is not resisting you but wants you to be aware and know that He is a great God, a dependable God. No one can ever deny that he / she has not used the word “WHY”

In any problem we ask why?

Find something to rely on and thank God for that for it is by His grace.

Do everything without complaining. Even at the soldiers’ grounds, it is said that “do before complaining”. For all that the Lord has done, if you cannot acknowledge and thank Him but insist on complaining, then what again will you satisfy with?

Learn to thank God. He has done a lot. You are living, some one is dead. You are well but some one is seriously sick but thanking God that he / she is alive. Why can’t you acknowledge this? Bless the Lord oh my soul and forget not all what He has done, said David.

May the Lord give you the insight and open your eyes to see what He has done and thank Him and He will also bless and lift you high, AMEN!!!

SUNDAY IV… 24TH APRIL

THE VALUE OF A TRUE FRIEND

There are four kinds of friends. These friends which ever we choose have effect on our life. However, it relies on the kind of friend you choose that determines the effect; be it positive or negative. These friends are:

  1. Multiplication Friends
  2. Division Friends
  3. Addition Friends
  4. Substitution Friends.

According to Eccl. 4:9 – 12, two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.

10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.

11 Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone?

12 And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

It is much recommended to have a friend or friends, the Bible says so, but the type of friend the Bible commands us to take is the friend of multiplication. Why?

Friends of multiplication are friends who multiply the wealth that you have and make your whole being very important.

Friends of Division come to divide what you have and your whole being.

In other words, Addition Friends add to what you have and increase your whole being to some extent, but Substitution Friends come and take away what you have laboured for and destroy your image.

That is why it is said that “show me your friend and I will show you your character”

Read these texts from www.firefighters.org  (Hebrew 10:25, IPeter 3:7-12)

 GOD BLESS YOU!!!

SUNDAY II…10TH APRIL

THE LIVING BREAD

Isaiah 55:22… Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? And your labour for that which satisfieth not? Hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.

Numbers 4:1-4 and John 6:35-40 are supporting text. Jesus is the living bread

Many people have struggled for riches, wealth, and worldly desires but still not gain any joy or satisfaction. We struggle for things which only last for a while and spoils, why is it so?

The truth is to such for what is above and the living bread that Jesus gave us in remembrance of him which will give us eternal life

According to John 6:49-59, our forefathers ate manner, yet they died; but he who eats and drinks the bread and wine signifying the body (flesh) and blood of Jesus will not die but will live forever.

The Israelites were complaining of eating manner all the time, but if they were to be in Egypt, they would have eaten foods of their choice. They forgot that God in so doing was preparing new things for them.

Sometimes that’s what happens; when God wants to move us, we demand to go for what we left behind. Beloved, leave all these and move with God. Things that despise God from moving with us must be left behind so we can move with Him and see His real being.

Jesus laid His life for you so that you will not live in lust and sinful attitude but will live Holy and everlasting life to the glory of God.

God Bless you AMEN!!!.

SUNDAY 1…3RD APRIL

MOVE FORWARD

Exodus 14:15…And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? Speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward:

Isaiah 54:4, Exodus 14:15 and Act 2:25-38 are supporting text.

Whatever that you do, you have to move forward.

There is no achievement in staying where you are now forever.

Move to a different height.

If you are an Usher, Singer or otherwise; moving forward to achieve a different level should be your aim (Pastor, Evangelist, Counselor, Drummer, etc.).

The Lord told the Israelites that He will fight for them and they only need to be still in Him (Exodus 14:14) and move forward.

He told Moses to stretch his stick on the sea and it will divide so they can pass and tell the Israelites to move forward and stop crying on the Lord because He said He will fight for them and they need to be still.

When you read Isaiah 54:4, the Lord says He will not disgrace us.

God has a way of removing every obstacle, therefore be still and move with God.

It is time to study God well and move forward.

You see people wedding today and tomorrow, get ready and move on, it will reach your turn.

According to Act 2:25-38, Peter even after denying Jesus, Repented and moved forward with God.

How do you move forward? According to Act 2:38, Repent and ask God for direction because God want to bless you. Amen!!!
